Currently I am employed as a Senior Network Security Consulting Engineer within the Worldwide Security Practice at Cisco Systems. I provide security consulting to (primarily) Cisco’s APAC regional customers, but have undertaken work in many other parts of the world. I work directly with customers to provide consulting services on various Security Architectures and product deployments. While my primary focus these days is Network Security, I have an extensive background in Networking in general. This includes both the deepest technical aspects as well as the related business issues. I have 13 years experience within Cisco Systems and an additional 10 years of related technical industry experience. I am experienced in both Corporate/Government and Internet Service provider environments. I have a detailed understanding of both the architectural and security issues facing both classes of customers. My formal qualifications include a Graduate Diploma and Master of Information Technology from Queensland University of Technology. In achieving the Masters, I studied significant content in Information Security. I also hold an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Queensland Institute of Technology, Ten Year Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE #1378), CISSP (#65410) and Cisco Certified Firewall Specialist (CFS) certifications.
